STUDIO ALBUM HILDA OUT OCTOBER AVAILABLE TO PRE ORDER NOW

The brand new single from ARIA Award winning Jessica Mauboy, ‘Little Things’, is set for release today, Friday June 21st through Sony Music Entertainment, and is available to buy, download and stream NOW.

‘Little Things’ was co-written with powerhouse duo DNA (David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii) as well as Chiara Hunter. It is the second song that Jessica has co-written from her upcoming fourth studio album HILDA and one of Mauboy’s best works to date.

About ‘Little Things’, Jessica explains, “This song is everything we want to tell our loved ones… to remind them that All we want is to be loved and appreciated in all of the things we do.

“This song could also be felt in a way that you could be an 8yr old girl or boy and want to feel loved by your parents, trying to catch their attention when your parents aren’t watching, to a 20yr old sharing their deepest experience and not getting that back in return from the one they love, to a 50yr old who could has lost their loved one and is haunted by memories of what was unsaid.”

To celebrate this new music, Jessica has also announced that her brand new fourth studio album, HILDAis also available for pre-order NOW, and set for release in October 2019. Jessica has co-written each of the 14 tracks on HILDA, where she very much goes back to her culture, telling a story throughout these new songs.

As with each of Mauboy’s studio albums, HILDA continues the theme of being an extraordinary photograph of where her soul has been at the time of writing. Here she now is at 29, and it is without question her most deeply personal work to date.

This is an album of songs about the ‘Little Things’ in our lives – the quiet moments on a ‘Sunday’afternoon, the private thoughts alone in a taxi cab, the 3am reflections, the little rejections, the disappointments, the small heartbreaks, but ultimately about hope and spirit which amount to the biggest things – who we are. It is an album about the two families in one’s life – the family we are born in to and the family we choose. It is an album she is deeply proud of and unlike her previous albums, it is the most naked & raw she has ever been.

Everybody knows Jessica Mauboy, but they don’t know JESSICA HILDA MAUBOY.

Jessica’s own music has been that saviour for many, with five top 10 albums, fifteen top 20 singles, 4 ARIA accredited Platinum selling albums and winning two ARIA Music Awards from 24 nominations to her name since she captured the heart of the nation as a 16-year-old on Australian Idol back in 2006. It is the first song Jessica has written for her upcoming fourth studio album and one of Mauboy’s best works to date. Each of Mauboy’s albums have been extremely personal and this new album shows her now at 29, reflecting on family – he family we are born in to and the family we choose – alongside the little things in our lives – the quiet moments on a Sunday afternoon, the private thoughts alone in a taxi cab, the 3am reflections, the little rejections, the disappointments, the small heartbreaks, but ultimately about hope and spirit which amount to the biggest things – who we are. ‘Sunday’ is the first taste from this new album, due later this year. “My favourite part of the song ‘Sunday’ is where the lyrics go – ‘I forgive you then you forget, you’re sleeping even if you didn’t make that bed’”, explains Jessica.  “There is so much sass in that and I love this idea of creating emotionally how just by little things by not making a bed, folding the clothes, picking up your rubbish can be so irritating and annoying that those things if not said can filter through the day, or the next day or the week or the month and can turn into something really I guess tangy. But I loved how passionate those lyrics and how deep they are.” Jessica’s own music has been that saviour for many, with five top 10 albums, fifteen top 20 singles, 4 ARIA accredited Platinum selling albums and winning two ARIA Music Awards from 24 nominations to her name since she captured the heart of the nation as a 16-year-old on Australian Idol back in 2006.
